Welcome to St Ninian’s Primary School

"Let all that you do be done in love." – 1 Corinthians 16:14

At St. Ninian’s, we believe every child is a unique gift from God, created to flourish in love, faith, wisdom and dignity. Rooted in the teachings of Jesus Christ and guided by Gospel values, especially our school values of Faith, Love, Respect and Kindness, our vision is to nurture a compassionate and inclusive community where every child is known, valued, and supported to reach their full potential—intellectually, spiritually, morally, and emotionally.

As a Catholic school, we are committed to the principles of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC), we place the child at the centre of all we do. We uphold their rights to education, safety, participation, identity, and wellbeing (Articles 3, 4, 12, 28, 29, and others), ensuring these are woven into our daily practice and lived ethos.

We embrace the belief that “it takes a village to raise a child.” Every adult in our school community plays a vital role in educating, supporting, and inspiring our children. Together with families, parishes, and partners, we walk alongside each child on their journey of faith and learning.

Through a collaborative learning culture and commitment to continuous improvement, our staff embrace research-informed teaching to inspire, challenge, and empower every child to become a confident learner, a responsible citizen, who value justice, celebrate diversity, and contribute to a more compassionate world.

Mission Statement

At St. Ninian’s Primary, we strive each day to live our faith through action, rooted in the Gospel values of love, kindness, respect, and compassion. Our mission is to:

  • Support every child to grow in their relationship with God, knowing they are loved, valued, and called to love others;
  • Provide high-quality learning and teaching that raises attainment and encourages every child to fulfil their God-given potential (UNCRC Articles 28, 29 & 30);
  • Create a nurturing, inclusive, and motivating environment that respects and upholds each child’s rights to safety, participation, expression, and wellbeing (Articles 3, 12, 13, 17, 19, 23, 24, 30 & 31);
  • Challenge inequality and celebrate the diversity of our families and community, promoting social justice and inclusion for all (Articles 14, 23 & 30);
  • Work in partnership with parents, carers, parishes, and the wider community to form responsible, informed, and caring citizens (Articles 9, 18, 19, 26, 29 & 31);
  • Foster a culture of reflective practice and lifelong learning among staff, guided by current research and professional enquiry, to ensure our approaches remain dynamic, inclusive, and effective (Article 3, 4 & 29).
  • Support the ongoing growth of staff and pupils as reflective learners and effective contributors to making our world a better place.

In all we do, we place Christ at the centre, helping our children grow in faith, hope, and love, and supporting them to live out the values of the Gospel in a modern and diverse world.

Together, we Grow.
