OUR PRE ENTRANT PROGRAMME

Our school offers a pre-entrant programme to parents and new entrants. This is usually in May and consists of two afternoons in which the children are invited with their parents to meet each other, their teachers and their buddies (senior pupil partners), which helps to ease the children in the transition to primary and make themselves familiar with the school.  Parents have the chance to meet with the teachers, become familiar with school procedures and are encouraged to ask questions, discuss any concerns and raise awareness of any specific needs they feel  appropriate for their child. We find that this programme has become invaluable to parents, teachers and partner agencies and we value the support of all at this stage in our children’s future education which is greatly appreciated.

We work in partnership with Knightswood Early Years children to collaborate in a range of activities throughout the year. Our P1 children buddy the pre 5 pupils which ensures they will meet a friendly face in the playground and ensure a smooth transition into St Ninian’s.
